Sukau Wildlife Safari With OX-Bow Lake & Gomantong Tour (2)

DAY 1        SANDAKAN/SEPILOK/SUKAU (Lunch/Dinner)

At about 0800hr, meet at hotel in Sandakan or pick up at Sandakan airport, and drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform for the 1000hrs Feeding Of Orang Utans. At this center, observe manfs closest relative gthe Orang Utanh being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat, and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. 1100hrs depart Sepilok and transfer to jetty in Sandakan. At about 1145hrs take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. After lunch, cruise UP river to Sukau village in search of primates, especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, another chance to go for the river cruising to search for wildlife.

DAY 2        SUKAU/OX-BOWLAKE/GOMANTONG CAVES/SUKAU (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Early morning, take a river trip to the Ox Bow Lake to observe wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river of Sabah. Return to lodge for breakfast, then free at own leisure. After lunch, proceed to Gomantong Caves to explore one of the fascinating caves in Sabah. The caves are home to the bats and swiftlets. At these caves, nest of the swiftlets are collected for the famous Chinese delicacy, the birdfs nest soup. Return to the lodge and late afternoon, another river cruise to search for more wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.

DAY 3  SUKAU/SANDAKAN (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, cruise down by boat back to Sandakan. Upon arrival at jetty, visit to the central market and then proceed to Airport or back to Hotel in Sandakan.
